Telegraph printer. 19th-century artwork of a telegraph printer developed by Moore and Wright in the 1880s. The electric telegraph had been developed in the 1830s and 1840s,but previously had been printed on narrow strips of paper. This invention allowed columnar printing on sheets or rolls of paper,as seen here. This was known as a column-printing telegraph. In 1890,Moore and Wright's patent was sold for GBP 30,000.
