Early galaxies hydrodynamics modelling. Supercomputer model of radiation hydrodynamics in galaxies in the early universe. This simulation has over one billion dark matter and star particles. It uses a flux-limited diffusion solver to explore the radiation hydrodynamics (orange) as galaxies formed in the early universe. This includes the ionizing radiation created by Population III stars. These short-lived,metal-free stars were the first to form, creating the heavier elements that made up later stars (Population I and Population II) and their planets. The results of this modelling were published in 2011 | |
