The tip of the finger bone is blue. The outer most layer of skin is the stratum corneum (bright pink),it consists of dead cells that act as a protective barrier. Beneath this are the stratum lucidum (light pink),the stratum granulosm (dark purple),the stratum spinosum (light purple) and the stratum basale (purple). Next is the dermis (light pink),a thick layer of connective tissue. Beneath that is the hypodermis,which contains adipose (fat) cells (white circles).
