Wind tunnel sensor with a scale bar in centimetres. This is a Pitot probe (or Pitot tube),named after the French hydraulic engineer Henri Pitot (1695-1771). This is used to measure the velocity of a fluid flow. Air flows as a fluid, and this probe is part of a pressure rake for a small-scale wind tunnel. A pressure rake is an array of sensors used to measure the pressure distribution at different points within a wind tunnel. Photographed at NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC),Ohio,USA.
