Gate of Europe Tower,Madrid,Spain. This is one of a pair of skyscrapers called the Puerta de Europa (Gate of Europe) Towers. The first inclined skyscrapers in the world,each one is 114 metres high with 26 floors. Built between 1989 and 1996,they were designed by US architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee. Originally the KIO Towers,they were taken over and completed by the banking firm Caja Madrid (now part of Bankia). Photographed in 2011 | |
