Pavel Nikolayevich Yablochkov (1847-1894),Russian engineer and inventor. Yablochkov developed his inventions in a workshop in Moscow,Russia. In the late 1870s he went to Paris to demonstrate his design for an electric carbon arc lamp (known as the Yablochkov candle). This included having his lights installed as part of the Paris Exposition of 1878. He also worked on improving methods of generating electricity,and on storing electrical power.
