Met Office KDF9 computer. Computer engineer testing the central processor of the KDF9,an early computer produced by the English Electric LEO (Lyons Electric Office) company. This was an advanced computer for the time,capable of 50,000 calculations a second. The Met Office,the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service,began to use computers in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
