Artwork of two of the 17th-century anatomical preparations (arteries,left; veins,right) donated to the Royal Society of London in 1667 by the English author John Evelyn (1620-1706). Known as the Evelyn tables,their history is given in the Latin inscription along with their origin (Padua,Italy,in 1646). Branches of the abdominal veins are at lower centre.
