Gold headdress and ear ornaments,Chimu Imperial Epoch (1300 AD–1532 AD). The main design of the headdress is composed of a feline face with a bird's beak. Serpents hang from the ear ornaments. Here we see the trinity formed by a feline,bird and serpent,the three sacred animals of ancient Peru. This artefact is on display in the Larco Museum,a privately owned museum of pre-Columbian art,located in the Pueblo Libre District of Lima,Peru. It showcases one of the world's largest collections of pre-Columbian art including Moche,Nazca,Chimu,and Inca pieces |
