Galileo launch,Guiana Space Centre. Artwork of a Soyuz-2 rocket being used to launch a Galileo satellite from the ELS launch pad at France's Guiana Space Centre,French Guiana. This rocket is built by Arianespace for the European Space Agency. The first scheduled launches at the ELS will be the first two Galileo IOV satellites on 20 October 2011. The rocket and payload are prepared using a Mobile Service Tower (centre left). The Galileo satellites will form part of a network of 30 satellites orbiting the Earth,providing car,train and aircraft guidance,rescue services,and road use taxation.
