Coppice woodland in April,a traditional woodland management technique. Here some Ash trees (Fraxinus excelsior) are left to grow and the remaining coppice trees are cut to ground every 10 years to provide a supply of small wood. The woodland is thus divided into a series of areas cut in different years, ensuring a continuous supply of wood. Photographed in Ashwellthorpe Wood,Norfolk,UK | |
