Chotuna-Chornancap museum. This museum contains artefacts and sacrificial remains from the Lambayeque people,excavated at the Chotuna-Chornancap archaeological site,in northern Peru. Also referred to as the Sican culture,the Lambayeque were a pre-Inca people that inhabited an area on the coastline of what is now northern Peru for several hundred years (750 to 1375). The museum opened in 2009,the same year this photograph was taken. The frieze seen here is a famous Lambayeque frieze discovered here in 1940 | |
