Natural History Museum's Diplodocus. US palaeontologist Arthur Sterry Coggeshall (1873-1958) with a 26-metre-long replica of the fossil Diplodocus skeleton that he helped discover in 1899. The original is in the Carnegie Museum,USA. This replica is one of several that Coggeshall helped to prepare and mount in European cities. Here,it is in the Hall of Reptiles at the Natural History Museum,London,UK,on 12 May 1905,the day it was unveiled. It was moved to the museum's Central Hall in 1979.
