Hoodoo rock formation. Hoodoos are tall spires of eroded sedimentary rock with a piece of harder rock on top, which protects the spire below from the elements. They normally form in arid basins and badlands (arid terrain rich in clay soil),which can be easily eroded by wind and rain. This formation is part of a set of hoodoos called 'Les Orgues',located near Ille-sur-Tet,in the Pyrenees-Orientales region of France | |
