Balancing demonstration. Objects that would not normally balance,such as an egg placed on its narrow end,can be made to balance if extra weights are added in a certain configuration. This is demonstrated here with a pair of downward-pointing forks in a cork balanced on the egg's broader end. This redistributes some of the weight below the balancing point on the rim of the bottle,increasing the stability.
