Radiosonde circuitry. Radiosondes are units designed to measure meteorological data when deployed on a weather balloon, and transmit that data back to a receiving station. This is part of the electronic circuitry used in the UK's Mark III radiosonde model, which was first used in the late 1970s. It was designed to gather and transmit data on pressure, humidity and temperature. It was the first fully automatic upper atmosphere measurement system used on a routine operational basis. It was used by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service | |
