Infected wound and scar on the leg of a 67 year old male patient,two weeks after the vein was harvested for a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). The red areas seen are due to bacterial infection. During CABG a healthy vein (from the leg in this case) is attached to the diseased coronary artery of the heart,bypassing the blocked coronary artery. (see image 2 showing wound being swabbed) | |
