Muybridge motion study shutters,seen from the front. These electroshutters were used by the English photographer Eadweard J. Muybridge (1830-1904) in his pioneering work documenting the motion of animals. From left to right they show the electroshutters before,during and after exposure. The most famous example of Muybridge's work was his study of a horse galloping,carried out in 1878 and 1879,in Paulo Alto,California,USA.
