Peacock worms (Sabella pavonina) at low tide, among sand and rocks. This marine polychaete worm is a type of tube worm. The tubes are made of fragments of seashells. When the peacock worms are submerged by the sea, feathery arms emerge from the tubes to catch plankton which is conveyed to the mouth.
