Palaeolithic arrowheads. These stone arrowheads were used by early humans for hunting. They date back to 10,000 years ago,at the end of the Upper Palaeolithic era. Some types of rocks, such as flint, could be knapped into many tools, such as knives and handaxes. Knapping is the process where a lump of rock is shaped into a tool by repeatedly chipping off small flakes. These arrowheads were found in Mauritania and are each about 2 centimetres long | |
