Rafflesia flower (Rafflesia arnoldii). Rafflesia arnoldii is a parasitic plant and has the largest single flower of any plant in the world. The flowers can reach a diameter of almost a metre. It flowers for a short period only, around five days, during which a strong smell reminiscent of rotting meat is emitted from the flower. This serves to attract pollinating flies.
