| Wind turbulence modelling. Researcher using a water tank to simulate and record the characteristics of wind flow over the Pacific island of Tahiti. In the water tank is a physical relief model of the island made to a scale of 1 to 20,000. The wind flows are recorded using a laser (lower left,blue square of laser light) to detect the flow of small microparticles,simulating wind flow.
