MODEL RELEASED. Foetal taste memory research. Newborn babies being tested for their memory of tastes experienced in the uterus. The babies (on the screen) are in a cradle that is programmed to release smells. The sense of smell is closely related to that of taste. The babies are monitored for their reaction time, allowing conclusions to be drawn about whether they remember strong tastes experienced from the amniotic fluid during pregnancy. Flavours in the amniotic fluid are due to the food eaten by the mother. Flavours being tested here include anise, curry and garlic | |
