Jantar Mantar observatory,Jaipur,India. These platforms were each constructed in alignment with a particular planet or constellation. Steps lead up to a viewing platform where the movements of celestial bodies were observed and tracked. The observatory was constructed between 1727 and 1734 by Maharaja Jai Singh II.
