Water droplets on a stem. The water droplets act as tiny lenses, collecting and focusing light to form inverted images of the corn poppy (Papaver rhoeas) field behind them. This is caused by refraction, the bending of light rays when they pass from one medium to another. Photographed in Lazio,Italy | |
