Production and decay of charmed particles
Electronic display of the production & decay of charmed particles (particles containing a charm quark) in the TASSO detector at the PETRA electron /positron collider at the DESY particle physics laboratory,Hamburg. An electron & positron have met & annihilated at centre,their energy remater- ialising as a number of new particles. Among them are a charmed D-star particle,which lives too briefly to be seen. It decays just to the right of the white bar into a pion (track 7) & a charmed D- zero. The D-zero is neutral & leaves no track,but reveals itself when it decays into two charged particles (tracks 6 & 8)
