Production and decay of charmed particles
Electronic display of the production & decay of charmed particles (particles containing a charm quark) in the TASSO detector at the PETRA electron- positron collider at the DESY particle physics laboratory,Hamburg. The display shows a cross-section of the inner part of the detector. An electron & positron have met & annihilated at centre,their energy rematerialising as two sprays of new particles. Among them are a D-star & a D- zero,the two charmed particles; they live too briefly to be visible themselves,but their existence is deduced from their decay products.
