Electron flow. Computer model of electron flow in a 2-dimensional electrical landscape. The pattern observed depends upon both the initial conditions and the electric potential. Electrons enter from across top in a uniform sheet spreading to right, with some entering from left as well. Successive electrons overwrite previous paths. This creates the 3-dimensional appearance seen across top. The branching effect is caused by the bumpy landscape (electric potential) in which the electrons move.
