Barrel jellyfish (Rhizostoma pulmo). Also known as the dustbin-lid jellyfish, this jellyfish is found in the open sea and coastal waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It can reach sizes of up to 90 centimetres across. A jellyfish's prey of fish, plankton or crustaceans is brought to its mouth at the centre of the underside of the bell, using its tentacles. Jellyfish swim by contractions of their bell. | |
