Effect of marijuana on spiders. Computer artwork of the orb web of a garden spider (Araneus diadematus) exposed to marijuana. Marijuana is derived from the dried leaves and flowering tops of the cannabis plant (Cannabis sativa) and contains the mood-altering drug tetrahydrocannabinol. A normal orb web consists of radiating threads and a sticky spiral hub (see Z430/519). A spider fed on marijuana-dosed flies produces an incomplete web with many areas missing.
