Light microscope footage of the colpodid ciliate Bursaria truncatella. Bursaria is a very large ciliate with a length up to two millimetres, visible with the naked eye. Bursaria lives in small, astatic habitats as well as in brooks and rivers, it can survive dry periods by forming resting stages. This sample was taken from a small brook.
