Apollo 11 moon rock samples being examined using isolation facilities and glove boxes. Numerous rock samples were brought back to Earth from the Apollo 11 mission onwards. A total of 382 kilograms of moon rocks were returned to Earth. The rocks are stored and examined in the Manned Spacecraft Center's (MSC) Lunar Receiving Laboratory (LRL). The Apollo 11 mission to the Moon took place from 16-24 July 1969, returning some 22 kilograms of lunar surface material. | |
