Human eye. Macroscopic footage of the pupil of a human eye dilating and constricting with small variations in light levels. The pupil (centre) is a hole surrounded by the iris, the pigmented circular structure which gives the eye its colour. The iris is mostly composed of smooth muscle, and contracts and relaxes under involuntary control. It regulates the size of the pupil, and therefore the amount of light entering the eye and falling on the retina. | |
