| Timelapse macroscopic footage of a hoverfly (Syrphus sp.) being captured by a sundew plant (Drosera sp.). Sundews are carnivorous plants that attract insects with a sweet sticky solution carried on the end of tentacles. When an insect lands, it becomes stuck to the tentacles, which then close around it. The plant then releases digestive enzymes that extract nutrients from its prey. | |
