The antennae of a giant drummer cockroach (Blaberus giganteus) are loaded with sensory receptors and are in constant motion as the insect explores its world. With a length approaching 10 cm, the giant drummer is the world's largest cockroach. It is found in tropical areas of Central and northern South America as well as the West Indies, and prefers living in dark and damp caves. Its diet includes rotting wood, fruit, dead insects, and decaying matter. | |
