Braconid wasp (Habrobracon hebetor), barely 3mm in size, approaching Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella) larva to inject eggs into its body. Braconids are parasitoids which means they are parasites only during the larval stage of their life cycles. When the wasp's eggs hatch, they will feed on the larva, eating it from the inside out. These tiny wasps are considered beneficial to humans as they control populations of agricultural pests. | |
