Tyndall scattering. Light scattering by small particles (about the size of wavelength) in a colloid or suspension is called the Tyndall effect. Here an LED flashlight is shining through two glasses with water that each has several drops of milk added. Milk contains tiny globules of fat which form a suspension. Scattered light is observed perpendicular to the light propagation direction. | |
