Seven-spot ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) is a large and distinctive ladybird and member of the Coccinellidae family. This is the most common species of ladybird in Europe and is found throughout the Palearctic region as well as the North American continent. The ladybird larvae and adults are voracious predators, consuming large numbers of aphids and can be found in any habitat where aphids are found. Photographed in Somerset, UK in May. | |
