Light micrograph of a normal human epididymis. The epididymis is a structure adjacent to the testis, through which sperm passes on its way to the vas deferens and ultimately the urethra. The epididymis consists of a convoluted duct (long slightly bent structures) lined by columnar cells (blue). The cells have stereocilia, the hair-like structures protruding into the luminal space (white) in the duct. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section.
