Sandford Lock hydroelectric power scheme, on the River Thames near Oxford, Oxfordshire, UK. This scheme, installed in the existing Lasher Weir, comprises three Archimedes screws coupled to electricity generators. Falling river water turns the screws and has a generating capacity of 440 kilowatts (kW) of renewable electricity. Construction began in 2011, and the scheme began operating in 2018.
