A museum-grade model of a Ranger spacecraft on display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, USA. Several of these unmanned spacecraft were sent to the Moon in 1960s to provide the first high-resolution photographs of the surface. They were simply aimed at the Moon and intended to crash onto it; later, the Lunar Orbiter spacecraft was placed in lunar orbit. The model is hanging in the roof of the Apollo/Saturn V Center at the Complex. | |
