Infrared views of the surface of Titan, Saturn's largest moon. Titan's hazy aerosol atmosphere has up until recently prevented a view of the Moon's surface. These images were created using 13 years of data acquired by the Visual and Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS) instrument on board NASA's Cassini spacecraft. The VIMS instrument sees in infrared wavelengths, revealing Titan's complex geologic surface features. | |
