Hooked hair on the leaf of Galium aparine. Galium aparine, or cleavers, is an herbaceous annual (family Rubiaceae) with small hooked hairs on the stems and leaves. It has over 80 folk names including clivers, robin-run-the-hedge, bort, bedstraw, goosegrass, catchweed, stickyweed, stickybud, sticky willy, sticky willow, stickyjack, stickeljack, and grip grass. It has been widely used in herbal medicine, and was even used by herdsmen to filter animal hairs out of milk. | |
