This axial (cross sectional) contrast enhanced MRI image of the brain shows the typical findings seen with Sturge-Weber syndrome. This entity is also called encephalo-trigeminal angiomatosis. It is classified as one of the neurocutaneous disorders. It is characterized by lepto-meningeal angiomatosis,a port-wine stain in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve and seizures. Often seen is hemiatrophy of the brain as in this case with abnormal leptomeningeal enhancement. Others findings may include enlargement of the choroid plexus on the side of the brain abnormality
