Giant frogfish (Antennarius commersonii) or angler fish,on wreckage. Although brightly coloured, this fish is inconspicuous as it stays motionless for long periods and looks similar to rocks and sponges. Its cryptic colouration helps it to avoid predators and to catch its prey. It lies in wait for smaller fish, its main prey, engulfing them when they near its mouth. It uses a lure (not seen) on its forehead, which can be wiggled to simulate a fish or shrimp. It may reach over 30 centimetres in length. It inhabits the tropical Indo-Pacific region.
