BRLESC I (Ballistic Research Laboratory's Electronic Scientific Computer). Technicians operating the console of a first-generation general-purpose electronic computer that went into operation in 1962. Designed and built by the US Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory in Maryland,BRLESC I solved ballistics,logistics and evaluation problems that demanded high computational speeds,at a rate of 5 million operations per second.
