Uterine adenocarcinoma. Light micrograph of adenocarcinoma cancer in the endometrium of the human uterus. The endometrium is the uterine lining. Here its surface epithelial cells are seen stained pink and forming cavities (white) which open to uterine glands. Adenocarcinoma cells are seen as long-irregular shaped cells with large nuclei which are invading the uterus surface and its glands. Endometrial adenocarcinoma is the most common cancer of the uterus,which usually occurs in post-menopausal women. Tumour cells can spread rapidly.
