John Hughlings Jackson (1835-1911),British neurologist. Jackson is best known for his work on epilepsy,from which his wife suffered. He described patterns of localized convulsive seizures,now known as Jacksonian epilepsy,which suggested to him that different areas of the brain were responsible for different motor functions.
