| Dashboard camera footage of the Chelyabinsk meteor exploding, on 15th February 2013. This large bolide exploded at an altitude of around 29.7 kilometres near the city of Chelyabinsk in southwestern Russia. The shockwave from the explosion shattered windows across the region, causing some 1500 injuries, but no-one was killed. Many small meteorites were found after the explosion, and a large 654-kilogram meteorite was recovered from the bed of Lake Chebarkul eight months later. | |
