Female ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) scent-marking territory. This lemur is rubbing scent glands at the base of its tail against the bark of a tree. This will warn other lemurs away from its territory. It is a social animal, living in large groups that defend a territory from other lemurs. They live in a matriarchal society and where the females assume responsibility for marking the group's territory. Filmed in Berenty Reserve, Madagascar.
